Remebering the Parallax affect when bow fishing:
When targeting fish using a bow your perception of where the fish is actually located is affected by the displacement of water. Therefore, the fish's orientation will be different then what your eyes are telling you.
A quick and easy experiment to see this affect is to fill a wide wine glass with water - place a pencil in the glass. Look at the glass from different angles and you will see that the pencil looks to be bent from dfferent angles.
By being aware of this affect you can compensate for this situation and prevent shooting below the fish from the side you are closet to.
note: The fish will appear closer to you then it actually is.
