How to Use a  Simple Formula to Weigh Your Fish

Fish Measuring Formulas

    bass weight = (length x length x girth) / 1,200

    pike weight = (length x length x length) / 3,500

    sunfish weight = (length x length x length) / 1,200

    trout weight = (length x girth x girth) / 800

    walleye weight = (length x length x length) / 2,700

For Example: you caught a 16 inch Walleye.
Using the above Walleye formula.
Length of Walleye : 16 inches
  (length x length x length) / 1,200
   ( 16 X 16 X 16 ) / 1,200
   4096 / 2,700 = 1.5  pounds

These formulas are intended for  "approximate" fish weights only
Girth: The measurment around the largest part of the fish's belly
